What Are the Best Low-Carb Foods? | Superfoods Guide

Many of my clients come to me and they want to know what the best low-carb foods are or they may have eliminated bread out of their diet because they want to lose weight. And I think there is just a lot of confusion around carbohydrates. So it's probably worth taking a look at what are good carbohydrates and what are bad carbohydrates.

The bad carbohydrates are the simple carbohydrates that we find in processed foods -- baked cookies, baked cakes, baked snacks that have sugar in them that go into our bloodstream and give us a sugar boost. The good carbohydrates are the complex carbohydrates. And these are the carbohydrates that we find in whole grains things like quinoa, barley, brown rice and these complex carbohydrates have fiber in them. So they give not a burst of energy, they give you long-burning energy.

So the first answer to the question is incorporate good carbohydrates into your diet. And things that generally tend to be low in carbohydrates are clean food like fruits and vegetables, whole grains and low fat proteins like beans. So again enjoy your carbohydrates but make your are choosing the healthy, complex carbohydrates.
